The following are the Penalties for some of the Offences related to the Traffic Rules under "Motor Vehicles Act 1988":-
1. Offences related to Documents:-

• Driving without a Valid License- Fine of Rs. 500/- and /or imprisonment for 3 months
• Allowing vehicle to be driven by a person who does not possess a Valid License-Fine of Rs 1000/- and/or imprisonment of 3 months
• Not carrying documents as required-Fine of Rs. 100/-
• Driving without Valid Insurance-Fine of Rs 1000/- and/or imprisonment of 3 months
• Vehicle without R.C-Fine of Rs 2000/-
  

2. Offences related to Driving:-

• Driving without a Valid License- Fine of Rs. 500/- and /or imprisonment for 3 months
• Allowing vehicle to be driven by a person who does not possess a Valid License-Fine of Rs 1000/- and/or imprisonment of 3 months
• Not carrying documents as required-Fine of Rs. 100/-
• Driving without Valid Insurance-Fine of Rs 1000/- and/or imprisonment of 3 months
• Vehicle without R.C-Fine of Rs 2000/-
• Driving without a Valid License- Fine of Rs. 500/- and /or imprisonment for 3 months
• Allowing vehicle to be driven by a person who does not possess a Valid License-Fine of Rs 1000/- and/or imprisonment of 3 months
• Not carrying documents as required-Fine of Rs. 100/-
• Driving without Valid Insurance-Fine of Rs 1000/- and/or imprisonment of 3 months
• Vehicle without R.C-Fine of Rs 2000/-
  
• Driving by Minor-Fine of Rs. 500/-
• Driving without Helmet-Fine of Rs. 200/-
• Seat Belts not fastened- Fine of Rs. 100/-
• Rough/Rash/Negligent Driving – Fine of Rs. 1000/-
• Dangerous or hasty Driving- Fine of Rs.1000/- and/or imprisonment of 6 months
• Driving against One Way- Fine of Rs.100/-
• Reversing without due care and attention- Fine of Rs. 100/-
• Taking “U” turn during outlawed hours- Fine of Rs.100/-

3. Offences related to Road Markings/Signal:-

• Violation of Yellow Line/Stop Line/Signals-Fine of Rs 100/-3

4. Offences related to Vehicle Horn/Lights:-

• Improper use of headlights/tail light for vehicle used in driving/Using High Beam where not required/Driving without Horn/Improper horn usage while driving- Fine of Rs100/ for each

5. Offences related to Traffic authorities/Signals:-

• Disobeying Traffic Police/ Disobeying manual Traffic Signal.Officer in uniform/Driving against Police Signals-Fine of Rs 100/- for each

6. Offences related to Speed/Overtaking:-

• Exceeding the prescribed Speed Limits/ Overtaking perilously/ Failing to confer way to sanction Overtaking/Overtaking from the wrong side :- Fine of Rs 100/- for each

7. Other Offences:-

• Driving under influence of Alcohol / Drugs- Fine of Rs 2000/-
• Using Mobile Phone while Driving.-Find up to Rs 1000/-
• Playing music while Driving- Fine of Rs 100/-
• Driving without Silencer- Fine of Rs 100/-
