Tamilnadu Chief Minister Dr.M.Karunanidhi plans to retire in July 2010

Tamilnadu Chief Minister & The DMK Supremo- Dr.M.Karunanidhi, has hinted that he may be retiring from active Politics after July 2010.Dr. M.Karunanidhi, who is 85 years old now, would be stepping down from power and retiring from active Politics after completing some of his "important ambitions" pending completion such as:-
  • Successful conduct of the World Tamil Conference(Tamil Semmozhi Maanaadu-Coimbatore),
  • Completion of the construction the new secretariat building and
  • The establishment of Anna Centenary Library at Kotturpuram.
After retirement, Dr.M.Karunanidhi would come closer to the people of Tamilnadu and devote more time to work for the poor and the oppressed communities.

After his stepping down from the posts of Head of the Government and the Supremo of the Party DMK, we can see a different "Kalaignar"-a non-political Leader of the People of Tamilnadu.
