The bifurcation of states in India was mostly based on linguistic population in various parts of the country.

However there is demand for further bifurcation of states mosltly based again on languages/ castes and creed.

In the following existing States in India there is demand for further bifurcation of States as indicated below:-

1. Andhra Pradesh- Telangana
2. Andhra Pradesh –Rayalaseema
(Bifurcation Made and a new State - Telangana Formed wef 02 06 2014)

24. West Bengal –Kamtapur

The above list is not exhaustive.

There may arise some more demands for separate state/s.

Whether it is advisable to further break the country into smaller pieces is a question to be answered by administrative and political experts.

The present Central Government of India is having the burden of taking the right decision at the right time in the matter of further dividing the existing states as per the demands made.

“Divide and Rule” is a policy handled by the then British Government which ruled India for more than a century.

It is a fact that if administration is divided into parts, the efficiency will be more, subject to efficient supervision and co-ordination.

It is notable that the Government of India is planning to divide the Internal Affairs Ministry for better administration.

more states or the existing states should not be divided further as it would lead to a lot of confusion and problems for the union as well as the state governments.Division of states should not be supported by anyone as it would be like that only when Britishers ruled us.We must be United.

Better Administration! That is just an excuse. Currently , Bihar has 9 divisions, which is good enough to better manage the development. In fact, Development is not one day thing, it happens over time by the contribution of people. And, dividing state has never been the best way to bring development, and it is not going to happen this time also. On one hand, center is creating Purvanchal and Maitilia by merging districts from other states making it too big (31 to 32 districts). On the other hand, center is breaking Bihar into destructively small size. Destructively small size means making Bihar too small to grow and develop. More districts should be added back to Bihar. In fact, center says Maithilia includes only Maithili speaking districts of Bihar and Jharkhand but Maithila unfaithfully also include Magahi, Angika, Santali speaking districts of Bihar and Jharkhand. It is unfair and unacceptable. This bifurcation of Bihar should be stopped.
