The New Year 2010 started with a Lunar Eclipse which occurred on 01st January 2010.A Total Solar Eclipse will occur on 15th January 2010.

The Solar Eclipse will be visible from some parts of Tamilnadu. This Solar Eclipse will be the longest one expected to last for 11 Minutes and 8 Seconds.

This rare Solar Eclipse can be watched from the following places in Tamilnadu :-

• Nagercoil,
• Tuticorin,
• Palayamkottai and
• Thiruchendur.

The Solar Eclipse can be seen from some of the other places of Gujarat such as:-

• Surat,
• Ahmedabad and
• Kutch regions.
