Indian Cricket Captain M.S.Dhoni has been awarded an honorary Doctorate Degree
by De Montfort University of the United Kingdom after the Indian Cricket Team winning the Twenty 20 Practice Match against Leicestershire on 30th August 2011.
Dhoni says that he has received this prestigious degree, because of his Cricket Team’s consistent good cricket played for the past few years.
It is noteworthy that under Dhoni’s captaincy the Indian team has achieved many feats including winning:
- the 2007 International Cricket (ICC) Twenty20 World Cup,
- the 2007-08 Commonwealth Bank One-Day series in Australia and
- most recently the 2011 Cricket World Cup.
