Lashkar-e-Taiba -Terrorist- Ajmal Kasab of Pakistan


was the sole survivor and  the only one person captured alive by the Indian security forces,  out of the 10  Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists terrorists who attacked Mumbai from 26th to 29th  November  2008 with chain of bombs/guns-attacks, causing sad deaths of  166 innocent ‘Indians’.

A Trial Court of Mumbai convicted Kasab on 3rd May 2010, of murder, waging war on India, possessing explosives, terrorist acts and murder and on 6th  May 2010, the same trial court sentenced him to death on four counts and to a life sentence on five other counts.




Further to Kasab’s appeal to Bombay High  Court his death sentence was upheld by the Bombay High Court on 21st February 2011.



His appeal in the Supreme Court of India, claiming that he did not receive a fair trial was also rejected struck down on 29th August 2011.

A mercy petition to the President of India on behalf of Kasab was moved on 18th September 2012 after he was handed over with the certified copy of his death sentence.



Kasab’s mercy petition to the President of India was recommended for rejection by the Indian Home Ministry and


the President of India, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee rejected Kasab’s mercy petition
on 5th November 2012 and the message was forwarded to the Government of Maharashtra on 8th November 2012.



At last after about 4 years of the 26/11 Mumbai terrorists-attacks mercilessly killing 166 Indians, the sole survivor of the terrorist-actions was hanged at 07 30 am on 21st November 2012


at the Yerwada Jail in Pune.
