In the city of Freiburg in Germany, solar panels have been placed on a stadium and power of 2,50,000 kWh is generated for use in the stadium.
At present, the cost of lighting up the “Chinnaswaym stadium” at Bangalore for 4 hours is around Rs. 20 lakhs.
As suggested by the representative of a German company GIZ, the Karnataka State Cricket Association / KSCA is exploring the possibility of sourcing the stadium’s power requirement through solar energy
A feasibility study by the German Company will find out how much power the solar panels will generate and whether the power from solar panels would be sufficient and enough to light up the Stadium.
