Educational Qualifications of Ministers in Narendra Modi’s Cabinet

In India, the requirements/qualifications required to become a Member of Council/M.C., Member of Legislative Assembly/M.L.A., Member of Parliament/M.P. are as below:

The Person must be a Citizen of India and
And his/her age must not be less than 25 years.

The requirements for becoming any of the M.C., M.L.A. or M.P. do not include any specific or minimum Educational Qualification/s.

The Ministers in the State Governments will be appointed from among the elected M.L.A.’s and the Ministers in the Union Government will be appointed from among the elected or appointed M.P.’s.

So, the requirements for becoming a Minister in any State Government in India and a Minister in the Union Government of India are the same as those for becoming M.L.A’s and M.P.’s.

And consequently, no specific or minimum educational qualifications are stipulated for becoming a Minister in State or Union Government of India.

(Unfortunately, on 03rd June 2014, within 8 days of taking over as a Cabinet Minister, Mr.Gopinath Munde (64 years) met with a fatal 'Road Accident', while going to the Delhi-Airport in his car, for his flight to Mumbai, when his car had an head on collision with an 'Indica' car.

Mr.Gopinath Munde was taken to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences/AIIMS, Delhi and expired due to a massive heart attack following serious internal injuries to the head and chest sustained in the road accident.

Our hearty condolences to the grieved and shocked family members of Mr.Gopinath Munde and the ruling party-BJP. )
