Who can donate Blood and Who cannot?

The best Donation you can make in the limited span of life as a man or a woman on earth is "Blood Donation".

You must be aware of some facts on blood donation, as to "who can make a blood donation and who cannot?".

Any person, whether Male or Female between 18 and 60 years of age can donate blood, once in three or four months.

The Persons who donate Blood must be with :-
  • General good health
  • Weight above 45 kg/110 pounds
  • Regular Pulse rate from 80 to 100 beats/min
  • Normal Body Temperature 99.5 F/ 37.5 C
  • Blood Pressure ranging from 160/90 to 110/60
  • Haemoglobin more than 12.5g/dL
The following persons cannot donate blood:-
  • Those who had been treated for Rabies, Jaundice in the past one year
  • Those who had Hepatitis B Virus or who had received Heaptitis B Immune Globulin in the past one year
  • Those who had received blood for some Surgery in the past six months
  • Those had donated blood in the past three months
  • Those who had Malaria Fever in the past three months
  • Those who had taken any Antibiotics or any other medicines in the past 48 hours
  • Those who had taken any Alcoholic drink in the past 24 hours
  • Those who had taken Aspirin in the past 8 hours
  • Thosewho are suffering from Cough, Fever, Cold, Sore Throat
  • Those addicted to drugs and Alcoholic drinks
  • Those who have Diabetes
  • Those who have High Blood Pressure
  • Those with Angina Pectoris/Heart Disease
  • Those having Cancer of any type
  • Those who have undue loss of weight
  • Those who have TB, Bronchial Asthma
  • Women:- who are pregnant or breast-feeding, who had an abortion recently,during their menstruating period
